Campaign Title: Urgent Surgery Needed: Help My Dad Fight Multiple Myeloma

The Story

My name is Yvonne/Victor and I am writing this to ask for your urgent help for my father, Victor Akwa. He is a 65-year-old man who has been a pillar of strength for our family, but right now, he is facing the hardest fight of his life.

In October 2025, our world changed when my dad was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells. It started with a fracture in his femur, which led to the discovery of lesions scattered across his pelvis and spine.

For the last seven months, he has fought bravely through four grueling cycles of chemotherapy. We held onto hope, but despite his efforts, the situation has taken a critical turn. The lesion on his spine has worsened and fractured, causing severe compression of his spinal cord.

The Urgent Need

This is now a medical emergency. My dad is in constant pain, and he requires immediate surgery to stabilize his spine and prevent further, irreversible damage.

We have undergone countless diagnostic tests—from brain and chest CT scans to CT myelograms—to prepare for this procedure. We are ready to proceed with the surgery, but we have hit a devastating financial wall. We have exhausted our personal savings and have been unable to secure the necessary loans.

To proceed with this life-saving surgery and settle the outstanding hospital arrears for his treatment to date, we need to raise £10,000.
