Treating Multiple Myeloma: Alison's Journey
Donation protected
In November 2022, Alison was diagnosed with multiple myeloma-a rare cancer of the blood. Since then, she has dove head-first into an extensive treatment plan. This treatment plan aims to eradicate all the cancer cells in Alison's blood so that she can get a stem cell transplant to put off the multiple myeloma's return. It has been tough to adapt to a scary diagnosis and a complex/constantly changing schedule of doctor appointments, all while balancing a full-time job!
The process of getting a stem cell transplant and recovering from it is complex and incredibly expensive. Not only does Alison have to take quite a bit of time off work, but she also has to live in temporary housing near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for several weeks/months after the transplant.
Alison will start the pre-stem cell transplant process on March 9th-15th. Then she will officially receive her stem cell transplant on March 30th. At that point, she will need to be off from work for 6-8 weeks to recover.
As you can imagine, this process is exhausting and stressful for Alison. It is never easy to ask for support, but your financial contribution (however big or small) would help to make this journey a little bit easier for Alison.

So much love to you all, and thank you to each of you for your support!
