Our good friend Rob Mullin was diagnosed with a grade ii obliogastrocytoma brain cancer over 13 years ago. He has bravely fought the battle ever since then...undergoing rounds of surgery, chemo and radiation with the goal of a full remission. Rob has faced every step of this battle with bravery, grace, determination and strength.
Rob's scan last week held some news that wasn't what the family had been hoping for...the tumor has been upgraded to a grade 4 glioblastoma. This is the most aggressive type of brain cancer and Temodar, the gold standard treatment, is no longer working against the cancer cells. Rob can have no more radiation to the brain and it is in a location that is not operable, so this makes it complicated to treat.
His family, wife Gail, daughter Hollie and son Gavin have been the solid rock for Rob and with him every step of the way as he has fought the cancer. And now, in light of the recent findings, their strength to help and support Rob is more resolute than ever.
One of Rob’s wishes is to go on a Disney Cruise before he gets too ill to travel. His family is committed to making that happen for him.
Consequently, this is an opportunity for all of us who have been blessed and supported by the wonderful Mullin family throughout the years to take our turn to support them. Let’s help send them on a vacation; to be able to step away from cancer just a bit, and give them the trip of a lifetime for all four of them. The goal is to raise $5000 to help offset part of their expenses toward the plane fare and the cruise. Any amount you feel compelled to donate would be so appreciated by Rob, Gail, Hollie and Gavin.
