Help Mulder get the continued care he needs

Donation protected
On Wednesday morning (8/21) my boyfriend Aaron got up to feed Mulder and Toby. Mulder loves his breakfast but that morning he did not get up to go eat. Aaron tried bringing food to him and Mulder was not interested. He tried giving him different types of treats and food to see if that would entice him to eat but still nothing. When I got home that afternoon from work I checked on Mulder and he looked/acted very much not like himself. He was lethargic, felt extremely warm, would not eat for me, and made it known he did not want to be touched. We took him into his vet right away for an emergency check up. They took his vitals and he had a fever of 104. They gave him fluids, Cerenia injection, and Onsior injection. They also did comprehensive bloodwork and an ultrasound on him. The only abnormalities from those two were that his calcium and white blood cells were high, and his lymphnodes were enlarged. We went home and he already seemed to be doing a lot better from everything they gave him and he finally ate some wet food.

Thursday morning (8/22) Mulder declined again. He wasn’t interested in any foods or treats and wouldn’t drink any water. The vet recommended I take him back in to be seen. They do the exam and take his vitals and he had a fever of 105.5. They gave him more fluids, bloodwork for a different test called Fever of Unknown Origin (completion date 8/28), and got sent home with antibiotics, food stimulant, anti inflammatory, and anti nausea medications.

Friday (8/23) he was doing better until I was trying to give him his first dose of antibiotics with a syringe. He seemed to have aspirated or choked so we immediately took him to the emergency vet. They examined him and said his breathing was not sounding completely normal and his temp was 103.5 (yay it was lower than the two days prior). They did an X ray to rule out pneumonia and he was cleared with that. He had coughed very loudly when the vet was checking in on us and that definitely helped him clear something out because his breathing was sounding normal again.

Saturday (8/24) he was improving. Was eating more food, being a bit more active, and passed a bowel movement after at least two days of not going. After passing the bowel movement though he seemed to be very uncomfortable and in pain.

Sunday (8/25), Mulder was very tired and slept all day. He got up to walk around a couple times but hasn’t had much energy. He’s been feeling warm and still will not drink water on his own so I have been constantly trying to help him stay hydrated. Towards the evening he started seeming uncomfortable, lethargic, and his right ear seemed to be bothering him.

I will more than likely have to take him into the vet to get an exam, his vitals rechecked, and hydration IV. That means more vet bills and we have already spent more money than we have the last couple on vet visits. We are low on funds and would appreciate any help we could get, even if it’s just sending good thoughts and healing to my baby.

If Mulder is not improving with the current therapies were doing and the lab results on 8/28 are normal without improvement, they recommend sampling the enlarged lymphnodes in his abdomen or do more X rays.

If you have read this far I appreciate you so so much for taking the time to read this. It has been so heartbreaking to see my baby ill and still not having answers to what is causing him to be ill. I have been constantly checking on him, monitoring his feeding/litter box, giving him his meds, and sleeping near him every night. I just want my baby to not be sick and in pain and to be himself again.
