Cause
Unfortunately as you may be aware, on April 20th 2018 Mandy was involved in an tragic accident resulting from an explosion of a jerry can during a backyard bonfire. The event has caused first, second and third degree burns to her face, neck, hands and left leg. This GoFundMe was created for intent to raise money for Mandy to cover her basic bills and necessities, as she is unable to work for some time.
SurgeryOn April 27, 2018 Mandy underwent skin grafting surgery. The surgeon used skin from her thigh and hip as a donor site and transplanted the graft to her severe burn sites which included her left hand and leg. The expectation from surgery is that greater than 50% of the graft must take to prevent further surgeries. At this moment, recovery time is unknown and is dependent on many factors. Sadly, some complications will be life altering and long.

Money & Recovery
As Mandy begins to heal, we are asking for your help. The recovery period requires some time in the hospital. She is currently in an isolated room at the U of A. Due to the increased risk of infection, flowers are not allowed therefore instead we ask that you donate to this GoFundMe. The money will help Mandy pay for her basic living costs which include truck payments, phone bill, rent, etc. Prior to this accident, Mandy was saving money to provide her dog Kruze with a leg surgery he requires. Possibly some of this money can allow her to continue her savings account. ($4,300)
We are truly so grateful for all of the wishes and assistance we have received thus far. Mandy continues to be very positive and resembles incredible strength throughout this difficult time.

We kindly encourage you to be reminded of this accident next time you are near a bonfire. Please use great caution around fires and always be aware of the risks involved when using gasoline and/or jerry cans this season. Remember, gasoline vapor can explode inside a jerry can and cause significant injury.
