Br. Mukhtar Ahmed Shaikh

Masjid Al Baqi volunteers are organizing this fundraiser for the benefit of the Shaikh Family.

It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing away of Br. Mukhtar Ahmed Shaikh who was only 52 years old, and leaves behind a wife and 2 young kids (13 yrs old boy) & (11yrs old girl).

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون،

On Friday October 21st, he was working the night shift as a gas station clerk, and per his co-workers, he was not feeling well earlier in the night. His co-workers were informed of police activity at the gas station early Saturday morning when he passed away.

He left behind a young family where he was the sole provider. His family lives in a rented apartment and there is no foreseeable source of income. He has been a regular volunteer for Masjid Al Baqi and he had built great ties to the community during his time here. His family lives near the masjid, and his children attend the masjid Maktab program.

Masjid Al Baqi is collecting funds for the burial and the family's long-term financial support. All collected funds will be entrusted with the Masjid Sadaqa funds, separately tracked and paid regularly to the family.

Janazah Salah was on Sunday, October 23rd after Isha Salah (8 PM) at:
