Hello To All,
I have created this fundraising campaign today because my sweet baby Hazel Grace needs your help! She is so young but has already been through so much. Not too long ago I had just lost my 3-year-old Bernadoodle to Leptospirosis and was overcome with sadness. Not long after facing that loss, I was contacted by a rescue that let me know about the terribly bad breeding situation Hazel Grace was in. She desperately needed help and was going to be euthanized. I got in the car and drove 14 hours to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to save her life and bring her home to a new family. She was only 6 months old at the time and we have fallen truly in love with her.
The information we received from the "veterinarian" who previously "treated" her in Pennsylvania made note of a possible heart murmur. When we first rescued her, we brought her to our primary veterinarian who diagnosed her with a grade 3 or 4 heart murmur and recommended she a veterinary cardiologist. We were referred to the best of the best in Dr. George Kramer at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists. We had our first appointment this past Monday and Dr. Kramer diagnosed her with a life-threatening congenital heart defect know as Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). This means Hazel Grace needs surgery to repair her heart and ensure a long and happy life.
Unfortunately, as it has for many, these times of COVID have hit my family My husband was out of work for a while and I am not working now because Covid hit my job and I am not needed at this time. The surgery is estimated to cost about $7,000 and I simply cannot afford it all. I am asking my friends, my family and my community to donate and/or share this fundraiser so that I can get Hazel Grace the surgery and treatment she so desperately needs to survive. No amount is too small!
I hope the generosity of the people around me will give me the opportunity to give Hazel Grace the life she deserves. And I hope one day, when I am in a better place, I will be able to return the favor to someone else in need. Please consider donating to my cause to help my sweet girl! She needs you.
