Help Jax Get the Care He Needs

Hi everyone,

I’m a proud cat and dog mom to three amazing fur babies—two cats and a dog. I work full-time job and often pick up extra shifts just to make ends meet. If you know me, you know my animals are my entire world. Everything I do is for them. I’m the person feeding stray animals, helping search for missing pets, and supporting others in the community however I can.

Right now, I’m asking for help for one of my own.

My cat Jax, along with Mugsy and Simon, means everything to me. Yesterday morning, Jax didn’t run to his food bowl like he always does. Anyone who knows him knows he usually comes sprinting the second he hears “come eat.” I immediately knew something was wrong and took him to Randolph Animal Hospital.

They ran bloodwork, gave him fluids, and treated him for nausea. Almost $1,100 later, his results showed a fever of 103.2, elevated pancreatic levels, and mild anemia. He was sent home with medication and instructions to monitor him overnight. While he did eat once when we got home, he hasn’t eaten since. Jax is normally my shadow—always following me around and cuddling—but he’s been withdrawn, sleeping a lot, and not acting like himself.

Because of this, I brought him to Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialties in Walpole for further care. They are now trying to determine the cause of his low red blood cell count and anemia. He will need additional testing, including ultrasounds, X-rays, more bloodwork, and possibly an inpatient stay.

The estimated cost for his care is between $4,398.12 and $5,123.37.

I want nothing more than for Jax to feel better and get back to his happy, energetic self. But figuring out what’s wrong and getting him the care he needs comes with a cost I wasn’t prepared for. I’ve always tried to handle everything on my own, but this unexpected expense—on top of rent, bills, and everyday necessities—is overwhelming.

If you’re able to help in any way, I would be deeply grateful. No donation is too small. Even sharing this or keeping Jax in your thoughts meansmore than you know.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give
