I, Riaz Hussain Sajid from Lahore Pakistan,coming to you with heavy heart and an urgent plea to help my brave 6-year-old son, Muhammad Rehan, in his fight against leukemia for the second time.

Muhammad's Journey

At the tender age of 3, Muhammad was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer. Our world turned upside down, but with unwavering hope, we sought the best medical care at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. Muhammad’s treatment, which included intensive chemotherapy lasted for 2 years when he was 5 years old. Thanks to the incredible doctors and the prayers of our family and friends, Muhammad achieved remission.

The Relapse

For 16 precious months, we celebrated every milestone, cherishing the return of our happy, playful child. Unfortunately, our joy was short-lived. Earlier this year, during a routine check-up, we received the devastating news that Muhammad’s leukemia had relapsed.

leukaemia is a terrible cancer that causes endless suffering. Muhammed is at risk of life limiting infections, debilitating tiredness and weakness and the inability to do normal things as a child. It has been harrowing for the family and the pain and suffering has been immense, he cant enjoy a normal childhood and the hope of curing the disease is the only dream.

The New Battle

Shaukat Khanum Hospital has provided Muhammad with the best possible care during this challenging period, administering another round of chemotherapy. However, the medical team has now recommended a bone marrow transplant as the most viable option to give Muhammad a fighting chance. For this procedure, we need to move him to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), where the necessary facilities and expertise are available.

The Financial Challenge

The cost of the bone marrow transplant alone is 3 million PKR (approximately $10,000 USD), payable in advance. This is a substantial amount, and does not include the additional expenses for Muhammad’s care, including pre- and post-transplant and travel and accommodation expenses during the treatment period. We are turning to you, our extended community, for support to meet this urgent financial need.

To ensure transparency and provide all necessary information, we have attached Muhammad’s lab reports, a letter from his doctor detailing his condition and treatment plan, and a letter from the hospital outlining the cost of the bone marrow transplant. These documents underscore the urgency and seriousness of Muhammad's situation.
