Hello! This is Mugsy! Big brother to Logan & Kylo; and furbaby to Roxanne & Nic. We rescued Mugsy from Staten Island Council of Animal Welfare back in 2009 when he was 2 yrs old. His best buddy, Harley, passed away in 2019 from End Stage Renal Failure. He was sad to see his buddy go. But now we are more grief stricken with the news we found out in April 2021.
Mugsy is diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer. Initially, we thought that the constant vomiting was due to a hairball blockage in the intestine. However, after an Ultrasound and a Cytology of the Spleen and Lymph Nodes -- it is Mast Cell Cancer. We were given 3 options from the Oncologist consult: surgical removal of the Spleen and a small portion of the Intestines; chemotherapy; or palliative care which is antihistamines and steriods. We are opting for surgery since the removal will be more beneficial in the long run and we can spend another 3 years or more with him.
Mugsy has been with me through all my ups and downs in life. He has detected both of my pregnancies; alerted me when I was going into labor; an emotional support furbaby through my Post Partum Depression & Anxiety; and has helped me through my grief. I am/We are not ready to say goodbye just yet.
We are not ones to ask for help but we have no other option. We will be forever grateful for any donation amount since this will strictly cover the cost of his surgery, vet bills, and medications needed. We wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that we couldn't fully afford it because of our finances. Mugsy is a part of our family and we love him very much!
Please donate/share if you can! Every little bit counts! If you can't donate, please say a prayer for my sweet little Mugsy ❤❤❤
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
