SOS! Mugroso needs our help! ***** WARNING: Graphic Images Below Text Body *****
When Mugroso was rescued from the streets in Tijuana, Mexico, it was clear something was not right. His head was severely inflamed, and he was drooling bloody mucus. Initially, the vet thought it was a nasty sinus infection. However, after a biopsy, they found that Mugroso has nasal polyps. Due to the location, the vet deemed it untreatable and suggested that Mugroso be euthanized. Our team wasn't ready to give up on Mugroso and sought to find a Veterinarian who would be willing to treat Mugroso and save his life!
There are only 2 facilities in the San Diego area that treat this type of condition, and they were both booked out for the next 2-3 months! Mugroso didn’t have that kind of time. Still not ready to give up, Mugroso's foster called every morning to check for cancellations. Mugroso must be a lucky dog because someone canceled, and he was seen this past Monday, March 8th. They performed a head CT and another biopsy to get a better idea of what is going on. The bills have already topped $2,800! If radiation is suggested, the cost of his treatment will be tremendous. The initial estimate was around $5,000 but may amount up to $10,000!! We have pledged what we can and covered the upfront costs, but we need your help!
Mugroso is SUCH a sweet doggie despite all of the pain and discomfort he is experiencing. Please help us give him a second chance at a happy and healthy life! If you can't donate, sharing Mugroso's fundraiser page will help him too.
You can also pledge funds for Mugroso by calling Dr. Gregory Ogilvie's office at California Veterinary Specialists in Carlsbad, California. Their number is (760) [phone redacted]. We will make sure that the bill is paid, but we really need help with this one!
