Help Daniela With Medical Bills

Daniela Cruz, a long-time Oregon wine industry employee and mother of three, has recently been diagnosed with a large brain tumor behind her right eye. Daniela is from Oaxaca, Mexico and has lived in Oregon for the past 16 years, where she has spent most of that time working in the vineyards of the Willamette Valley. Most recently, she has spent the past four years working as the Vineyard lead for Lingua Franca. Daniela and her husband Daniel, along with their children, including their recent newborn Gael, currently live next door to Lingua Franca on the Seven Springs Vineyard, which her husband Daniel farms.

In early September, Daniela discovered that she had a large tumor behind her right eye, causing severe pain. The tumor has yet to be diagnosed but is large enough that doctors have opted for immediate removal. The procedure is scheduled for October 3rd. Because of it's location, much of the tumor will be left in place to avoid a more invasive surgery into her brain and tear duct, which could lead to loss of vision. This should, however, relieve much of the pain she has been experiencing.

Daniela is a hard worker who is passionate about agriculture. And, despite all of this, she is optimistic and eager to recover so she can get back to work during her favorite part of the year: the grape harvest!

Through the process of discovering her tumor, Daniela has acquired a large stack of bills. She is expected to have even more bills with her upcoming surgery and recovery process. We hope to raise $10,000 on her behalf to aid with this hardship for her family.
