Muffin's Emergency Vet Bills

Hello everyone, life in general can be challenging at this time and one of my dearest friends Amber, just had a major scare with her sweet cat muffin(I LOVE MUFFIN SO MUCH) and with perseverance and care from the team at the Paramount Animal Hospital, Muffin just arrived home last night, but as you can imagine the emergency care and multiple nights staying at the Animal Hospital, incurred some high medical fees.

A little goes a long way and any help is greatly appreciated. If you know Amber, you already know she is the kindest, thoughtful and most caring woman out there! She is a gift to have in your life and if you've had the pleasure of meeting her sweet fur family (Honi & Muffin) you most likely have fallen in love with them too!

Here is a message from Amber about what happened:
"On the evening of Tuesday December 16, I had noticed muffin did not eat her dinner, and was feeling off. She looked a bit dehydrated so I brought her some water and checked in on her every couple of hours until I could bring her to the vet first thing in the morning December 17. The vet took her vitals which were normal and some bloodwork. He advised to continue to get her to drink and eat and keep her comfortable until he called with the bloodwork results.

The next morning she was noticeably much more fragile and when the vet called, he told me to take her to emergency immediately. I got her into the car the second I was off the phone and brought her into paramount vet (same day there was a 100 car pileup on the highway which was very distressing due to my ptsd from a previous car accident).

When muffin was admitted, it wasn’t clear if she would survive this, her creatine levels were in the high 600s, and she needed it fluid therapy, painkillers, and antibiotics as she was diagnosed with acute on chronic kidney disease triggered by a UTI.

She started to make some improvements slowly, but things were very touch and go until we started to turn a corner with her treatments on December 21. Her levels went down into the mid 300s and her vitals all improving as well (she is getting back to her little mischievous self), however the fluids started to build up around her heart. No damage to her heart, but with the reduced fluid intake it was recommended to monitor her for another night to ensure she continued to stabilize. Today is the day that muffin gets to finally come home.

After 13 years, muffin has carried me through instability and been my constant. She is the embodiment of pure love, and is the sweetest, gentlest cat. Even people who don’t like cats love her, she’s changing hearts and minds. At the emergency vet, they’ve mentioned several times how pleasant and sweet she is, they’ve told me she’s a fan favorite and is a Little Rock star in there— the director brought his wife over to meet her!

I had put some money aside for emergency, but I never could have imagined it to amount to this. "

As mentioned, any help is greatly appreciated and a little really does go a long way (especially in these times of uncertainty we are in)

Thank you in advance for you love & support!
