My name is Christy, my home on South Kīhei Road in Kihei Maui was overwhelmed by the sudden flooding from the Kona Low March 2026 that filled the first floor with nearly a foot of water and thick mud. Within minutes, water rushed through the unit, soaking everything in its path.
When the water receded, it left behind inches of mud, soaked drywall, warped flooring, and a heavy mold smell. Nearly all of my belongings were saturated with contaminated water and mud. Furniture, clothing, bedding, kitchen items, electronics, and personal keepsakes were destroyed.
I've had to leave all my belongings and home in Maui because the home was no longer safe to live in due to mold risk and electrical hazards. I’m now facing the unexpected costs of emergency lodging, replacing basic necessities, and starting over from scratch.
This has been heartbreaking and overwhelming. In a single week, I lost most of what made my house a home.
I’m asking for help to cover:
• Temporary housing and food while displaced
• Replacement of essential clothing, bedding, and household items
• Replacing ruined items and basic necessities
• Cleaning, storage, and transportation costs to relocate
Any amount, no matter how small, will help me get back on my feet during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean so much.
Mahalo for your kindness, support, and aloha.
