I get asked all the time why the hell for the past 14 years have I been doing these crazy obstacle course races. At 60 years old, does that make me insane? Do I love pain that much? Am I going through a long-term midlife crisis? Is it for the free swag and beer? Do I enjoy getting new scars every year? Maybe... but I enthusiastically do it to raise money for the CSSSA Foundation at California Institute of the Arts. This is a rigorous, four-week residential program for the most talented high school students in California. Its mission is to train the next generation of arts professionals in animation, creative writing, dance, film & video, music, theatre, and visual arts. And they've been doing this for over 30 years! My next race is in April, so please donate what you can to help support the arts through this great program. Thank you so much!!
