Help Him Trade a Mud Floor for a Degree

In 2023, while travelling solo in Africa, I met a 17-year-old boy who had lost his parents and was raising his five younger siblings alone.

He lived in a mud house, slept on the floor, had no electricity, no shoes, and survived on less than $1 a day - often eating only once. Yet, against all odds, he graduated high school with top marks in chemistry, physics, computer science, and maths - the first in his entire village to ever do so.

Over the past two years, I’ve supported him with school fees, safe housing, food, clothes, a bicycle, and other basics so he could finish school.

Now, he has been accepted to Makerere University, East Africa’s top university, to study Computer Science and become an IT engineer.

He just needs £1,800 to cover his first year’s university fees and a second-hand computer.
