Hello!
We are Muck Duck Studio, a creative empowerment space in Rochester, NY. Our mission is to reach our audience through public access to arts, music, yoga, meditation and non-profit partnerships. We need supplies to run programs in the studio!
Art:
Attendees have supplied their own materials and we want to be able to offer supplies to those with financial accessibility needs. We want to give our attendees a chance to sample different media without a cost to them.
We need $1500 to stock us for over a year:
- We need: easels, paint, paint brushes, canvases, chalk pastels, India ink, watercolor, paper, charcoals, oil paint, oil materials, etc.
- With these supplies we can offer creative enrichment programs at our studio for free, donation or low-cost entry.
- Our goal is to have our work subsidized so we can offer services with a low barrier to entry for participants.
Somatic Expression:
Somatic experiences are creative exercises that ignite bodily awareness and connection. It’s our chance to leave the head and enter the body. Our body can soothe itself into recovery and has benefits similar to medicine. We offer yoga, sound baths, meditations, dance, breathwork, guided inquiry, internal sound healing and more. This ONE-TIME need can offer these services on repeat for low cost, donation based and free.
- We need $1500: yoga blocks, yoga mats, bolsters, blankets, sand bags, etc.
These supplies would allow us to run classes of up to 25 people. We aim to use these tools for both in-house and external (Mobile Muck Duck) offerings.
Music:
We often promote emerging musicians who do not have the gear/equipment to run their own shows.
- We are in need of $1500 for: powered speakers, a mixer, microphones, cables, piano tuning, stage design elements, etc.
Our Non-Profit Journey:
We are in the process of becoming a non-profit. We need time and money to dedicate to the extensive NYS filing experience. We are asking for $1,000 to support this process.
We have reached over 2,000 people with our services so far, and raised money for other non-profit organizations. We are now taking Muck Duck to the next level by offering programs both in our studio, and in the community (Mobile Muck Duck) as a way to help reach folks across the region.
We serve folks on the special needs spectrum, the financially insecure, folks with mental illness, LGBTQ+, women/femme, children, elders, BIPOC, and those in addiction recovery.
We know the value of our work and have seen what it can do in peoples lives. Help us on our pursuit to help others. We would be honored to show you the outcomes of our work throughout this process.
