Help for April

UPDATE: 

Well the chemo and radiation combo worked to shrink the tumor, but not enough to do surgery. Tomorrow April starts a really long 6 month journey of chemotherapy. She is getting some assistance, but the assistance she is getting only covers 1/3rd of her bills. She won’t be able to get through these next 6 months without our help. Please consider donating every amount helps get her through what is hopefully the toughest time in her life. Please share also if you can. 

For those of you who are reading who don’t know april, she is the kindest hearted person. She will help anyone she knows and always puts her kids and everyone else before herself. She is a great mother and LOVES to work and workout, but is unable during treatment. She always has a smile on her face and is just a very positive and spiritual person. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts while she goes through this treatment.

Hi everyone! I’m Shauna. As many of you know April is like a sister to me, so this isn’t easy to write, but her mom Debra had the great idea to start one for her, which is much needed in this situation so here goes:

 

This last week has been an emotional whirlwind. We found out April has stage 4 cervical cancer. They are still running tests to find the best possible treatment plan for her but right now the plan is for her to do chemo once a week, and radiation therapy 5 days a week.

 

Her treatment will be like a full time job for now and we aren’t sure what is to come in the months ahead. Illness doesn’t stop bills from coming in, and she will be unable to work during this time. We have applied for short term disability but are unsure if it is going to get approved or how much. She also has two kids to support ❤️

 

April is a fighter, and right now she needs all her focus to be on recovering and her health, Anything helps lower the stress she might have covering bills at home and hospital bills for her treatment.

 

I know some of you reading this will have questions, please reach out to me with those so she isn’t overwhelmed trying to keep people in the loop, and reach out to her with support and prayers.
