Natalie Melendez is a caring mother, wife, and friend who is in need of our help. At 8 years old, Natalie was diagnosed with diabetes. When she became pregnant with her daughter, being diabetic caused serious health issues. Her kidneys began to fail and after the birth of her daughter, Natalie was put on dialysis. She remained on dialysis for the first 4 years of her daughter’s life.

Natalie received a kidney and pancreas transplant in 2015 which helped alleviate her symptoms and diabetes for some time. In 2017 and 2019 respectively, her kidneys and pancreas failed and the doctors informed her that she was again a diabetic.

Today, Natalie is struggling to stay healthy and has to attend dialysis three days a week. Despite this, Natalie continues to work as a Classroom Aide with the Greater Amsterdam School District. This fundraiser is being created to assist with the medical bills and help her stay home and rest on days she’s feeling sick from dialysis. This GoFundMe was made by her co-workers on her behalf, and all proceeds will go to her.
