Rudy Perez, born on July 29, 1981, and tragically passed away on November 17, 2023, was a man of honor, dedication, and unwavering love. Rudy began his journey of service in 1999, joining the MARINE'S and serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. His role as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor reflected his passion for guiding young MARINE'S, an embodiment of his deep patriotism and love for his country.

In 2008, Rudy's path led him to the Barstow Police Department, where he distinguished himself through his integrity, bravery, and compassionate heart. He held various roles, including Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, and Crime Impact Detective, ultimately rising to the rank of Corporal. His remarkable skill in recovering stolen vehicles earned him the esteemed "10851" award.

Rudy's colleagues and community members revered him for his humility, professionalism, and ability to touch lives beyond the badge. His commitment to justice and safety left an indelible mark on the Barstow Police Department and the city he so diligently served, culminating in his retirement on April 30, 2023. Rudy's retirement marked the end of an illustrious career, during which he demonstrated unwavering dedication to his duty and the community he cherished.

Beyond his uniform, Rudy was a beacon of love and joy. He adored his family, cherishing moments spent camping by the Kern River, hosting heartwarming BBQs, and embracing every precious moment with his loved ones. Rudy's role as a father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother, and mentor was filled with warmth, wisdom, and boundless affection.

Rudy's beloved wife Claudia, his cherished children Paul, Rio, and 'Little Rudy', his adoring grandson Aeries, along with Aeries' mother Alyssa, and his parents Lucy and Jose, and siblings Natalie and Jose, mourn his loss deeply. His bond with his late son Steven, who predeceased him, remained a guiding light in his life. Each of these individuals embodies a part of Rudy's immense love and legacy, reflecting the profound joy and compassion he shared with them.
