Help Build a Bathroom at Upper Mt. Simon Park

A $15,000 COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

We just received the biggest boost this project has seen yet.

An anonymous local donor has committed $15,000 toward a new public restroom at Upper Mt. Simon Park and challenged the Eau Claire community to raise another $15,000 by December 31, 2026.

Before this commitment, we had raised less than $3,000. This moves us forward in a huge way, but now we need the community’s help to answer the challenge.

The donor told us, “Growing up, my neighborhood park transformed my life.” Their hope is that this gift will inspire others to help make Mt. Simon more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Mt. Simon is one of Eau Claire’s most loved parks. People come here to hike, play disc golf and volleyball, bring their kids to the playground, gather with friends, or simply enjoy one of the best views in the city.

But there is still no convenient public restroom near the Upper Mt. Simon playground.

Families and other visitors may leave the upper park early when children or other members of their group need to use a restroom. A permanent restroom would make it easier for people to stay and enjoy the park, including:

• Families using the playground

• Disc golfers and volleyball players

• Hikers and trail users

• Picnics and community gatherings

• Everyone who comes to enjoy the park

OUR $70,000 GOAL

The Northside Hill Neighborhood Association is raising $70,000 toward the construction of a permanent public restroom at Upper Mt. Simon Park.

The colorful new playground, funded through a generous bequest from the Jane Honadel estate, has already brought new life to this part of the park. A nearby restroom is the next practical improvement the park needs.

PARTY FOR THE PARKS

Party for the Parks is one way our community can come together and support the bathroom project.

Join us Saturday, September 12, from noon to 7 PM at Mt. Simon Park. The event is free to attend, with a $10 suggested donation if you’re able.

Every dollar raised by the Association at Party for the Parks will support the bathroom project and count toward the $15,000 community challenge.
