It is with a heavy heart I come back to write this update.
On the morning of May 6th, 2016, Michael lost his battle with terminal brain cancer. As with EVERY day since his diagnosis, his wife Cynthia was right by his side.
Thank you all for you generous support during their fight and any future donations will go to the cost of Michael's memorial.
For those who are newly reading this, please read the story of Michael and Cynthia's journey below.
***********************************************************
Michael's journey first began in 2009 when he was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 24. He has undergone surgery, chemo and radiation for it. After nearly a year of treatment he went into a remission.
In 2015 after noticing a increase in seizures and decrease in speech and mobilty, They were given the news no one wants to hear AGAIN.....The cancer is back.
Due to the complexity of his case and the recurrence of the tumor, the previous care plan of surgery, radiation and chemo was not so much of an option this time.
Michael is unable to work or drive due to seizures and right sided arm and leg weakness. Cynthia has had to give up her job to take care of him full time.
Michael does have medical coverage, but insurance will not cover everything they need to get through this difficult time.
This is a topic that really hits home to me, as well as many others. As anyone who has taken care of a loved one understands, it's not just the emotional but also the financial strain this puts on a family.
This page is dedicated to supporting Michael and his family throughout his battle.
