My name is Josmerlyn, and I am organizing a missions trip for summer 2026 to Monte Plata, Dominican Republic. After attending a missions trip in August 2025 to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I felt a strong calling to help children in need. Many of the children in Monte Plata have experienced traumatic situations such as abuse, maltreatment, and abandonment. I believe that even a small step can bring love and hope to their lives.

This summer, I will be partnering with KidsAlive International to bring 16 missionaries to the Hope Center, which provides foster homes and a Christian school for over 200 children. Our plan is to host a 3-day summer camp for 100 children, focusing on mental health awareness. With an additional 2- days to work on rebuilding the safe haven homes on campus grounds. The funds raised will be used for art supplies for art therapy, summer water sports, new activities, and food supplies for the families of the children attending. Any leftover donations will go directly to the Hope Center to cover essential costs for the children, such as clothes, school supplies, and hygiene essentials.
