Yesterday, on Mother's Day, my beautiful 7 year old niece was part of a hit and run accident while riding her bicycle at a local St. Charles park. Anyone who knows her has been blessed by her sweet, caring, and sunny nature.

Due to the nature of the injuries she was airlifted to a hospital in Park Ridge and is there to get the best care possible due to the unknown. At this point we know she has several broken bones, a lot of abrasions and mental scarring as well. I pray the list stops there.

The medical care and costs associated will start to pile up and any little bit you can share would be most appreciated.  My family has been a part of the St. Charles community for several generations and I'm grateful for the support that we have felt so far.  The thoughts and prayers for the little girl left in the middle of the road has not gone unnoticed.

As a single mother who works as a local Licensed Massage Therapist, if my sister is unable to work she does not receive pay to support her family.  Her father will also be needing to take time off of work to help care for her.  My niece will be in the hospital for many days, possibly even weeks, and the medical care will continue once she is transferred home.

Please consider donating to the Hanson family to help care for the associated costs of this horrific accident. I truly appreciate how this community rallies and supports its members!  And as always please continue to pray for my beautiful niece.

This girl's a rockstar! After getting her chest tube and IV out yesterday her progression has amazed us. She's up walking around on her own, eating, and laughing best of all! She has lots of healing to do at home with two broken ribs, her lungs are still healing, bumps and bruises, and we're following up at their concussion clinic as an outpatient - all in all, we are so so blessed and grateful. Thank you again for all the prayers and well wishes, this is what miracles are made of.

We are so humbled and blessed with all the love and support for our dear angel. Thank you to the incredibly fast first responders and all the amazing medical staff at Luthern General.

We also want to thank the Kane County Sheriff's Dept, all the local law enforcement agencies, and of course our amazing community.

In times of tragedy, Valley View and St Charles always pull together. We are grateful to live in an amazing community.

Our girl is stable, in great hands, and will pull through stronger than ever. Please continue to send love and prayers her way. She has a long road to recovery but we know how truly lucky we are.

Thank you for the outpouring of love, well wishes and prayers. It has been felt and much needed. Please continue to share, like and donate if able. We are still working through other details, but the go fund me is the immediate way to help.

As far as our Lexi, she has a long road ahead of her but should come out of this very strong, with some injuries, but come through this nonetheless. And let me share, she has not lost a bit of her sweetness or sass!

Truly from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
