Reunite Steven with his son, Daniel
Donation protected
Steven Griffith hasn't had the easiest of times growing up and in his early adult life. Accepting your sexuality in the face of overwhelming judgement is difficult to deal with and leads to feelings of shame and poor choices where self care are concerned. The process of self acceptance for Steven coincided with many years of homelessness and drug abuse. Two very beautiful things came out of this dark experience for Steven. The best thing was his son Daniel. The second was was the reclaiming of his life and the self acceptance that began with his sobriety on November 16, 2012. During the throws of his addiction, Steven lost the right to be a part of his son's life. Judgements about his sexuality only intensified the battle to keep him from seeing his son.
Today, Steven spends his days giving back to his community as Program Manager at Seattle Area Support Groups & Community Center providing peer emotional support services for people living with HIV, and people who are struggling in early sobriety to piece together a life of hope and healing. Steven spends his nights working two extra jobs to catch up on child support and to pay the legal fees necessary to regain visitation rights to see his son, Daniel. The love that this father has for his son and the desire to be reunited with him is what drives him to work seven days a week and hope against hope that he will be able to cover the expenses necessary to be reunited with Daniel again.
The end is in sight for this amazing reunion, but Steven still needs help covering the legal fees necessary to reach his final goal. He is too proud to ask, so lets ask for him and help with what we can.
Let's bring Daniel home to Daddy Griff (Steven)!!
