hello, my name is leah. i am starting this gofundme for my mom, meredith.

a few months ago we discovered that my mom had 4 meningiomas in her brain. one of the larger tumors had taken away her vision in one eye. going forward we had planned and scheduled her for surgery.

she went under march 20th very optimistic and hopeful but things took a dreadful turn.

as they were finishing up the surgery, one of her major arteries began to bleed. after many attempts to stop the bleeding, nothing was working and they made the decision to stop the blood flow to the artery completely. with this being done, my mother suffered a major stroke.

on the 21st of march my mother was stable and was able to communicate with us very minimally, due to her stroke she had lost feeling in the left side of her body.

in the morning of the 22nd things took a turn for the worse and they could not get her to gain consciousness. after looking at her brain scans they discovered that her brain was swelling greatly and rushed her into surgery where they had to remove a large portion of her skull to allow the brain to have room to swell. she is now out of surgery and stable in the ICU. they will be keeping her skull off for 2-3 months and she will not be able to return to work this year as she will be needing to undergo intense therapy for vision, speech, and physical.

this gofundme will help our family be able to cover any additional medical costs that may arise and my mothers living cost as she will not be able to return to work. she does everything for her family & now it is up to us to take care of her & any and all costs that will help keep her stable and keep the house we’ve lived in for 20+ years.

anything helps, as well as prayers. she is loved by her daughter Leah, her son Christian, her significant other John, her mother Margery, her grandkids, her brother & sister and so many people who all need her and want nothing more than for her to be stable and not have to worry financially while she is recovering. She is a fighter & we know she will come out of this even stronger.
