Sebastian’s Recovery
As some of you may know or don’t know Sebastian had a stroke on May 2nd. He was taken to Legacy Silverton Hospital where they found him to have a torn artery in his neck from a roll over crash he had two months prior. Without being aware of the tear in his artery it had been slowly leaking fluid which eventually caused him to have a stroke. He was then transferred to Legacy Meridian Park to be admitted to the ICU for further observation. Meridian Park also found him to have a brain stem bleed as well from aMRI they had done. The brain stem bleed did eventually stop bleeding with medication.
After five days of being in the ICU with little to no strength on his right side, difficulty swallowing, unable to walk, unable to form words and severe vision changes he was later transferred to Salem Hospital Inpatient Rehab where he is at now for intense rehabilitation. Since being discharged from the ICU and being admitted to the inpatient rehab he has gained some mobility back in his legs and is able to take a few steps with assistance, as well as he is able to eat solid food (with assistance) and is able to speak without any issues, but his vision has not improved. He will be in inpatient rehab for 2-4 weeks depending on his recovery time. His neurologist, PT, OT and ST have high hopes for a full recovery because he is young and highly motivated to get better but, only time will tell.
We are creating this because we are unsure when he will be able to return back to work and his medical bills are continuing to increase daily. We ask that you donate as much as you can to help him out during this difficult time. We thank you from the bottom of our heart if you are able to donate.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. I will answer any questions with the best of my knowledge.
