Hi, my name is Freya. I'm 26 and I have been suffering with chronic abdominal pain since I was 12 years old. I often have found myself taking time off school and work due to chronic pain that causes me to collapse, be sick and generally reduce my mobility.
As I've gotten older, hormonal treatment has been less effective. After a trip to the emergency unit I was told that it was very likely I have Endometriosis, that has been progressing for a very long time.
This is a condition where rogue tissue grows into organs it shouldnt and impacts quality of life. It cannot be cured. This year my flare up has become unmanageable and impossible to hide. I am now seeking out a surgery called a private Laparoscopy to diagnose and treat my condition sooner rather than later. A laparoscopy will remove the rogue tissue and temporarily help my symptoms so I can work properly and live a normal life again.
I cannot afford to wait 2+ years on the NHS and have made the choice to go private to speed up the process and ensure that I am being treated by a certified professional.
