March 26, 2025 started as a common routine surgery for Jerry, has now turned into a living nightmare for the whole family. Jerry is now in cardiac intensive care unit at the Cleveland Clinic for 44 days.

Jerry went to the Cleveland clinic to have a heart Cath and the 1st try was a failure when his blood pressure critically dropped and fluid started forming around his heart. So the doctors decided to try again a week later. Placing an impella pump into his heart to support the heart pumping function, the procedure went well. He was ready to come home after they removed the pump on april 1st @7am, when theywere removing the pump he arrested & was brought back to life. They put him on life support, ventulator & pacemaker.

Jerry remained on life support for 7 days & ventilator for 9 days. At that time Jerry was responding, recognizing people, talking a little, eating, he knew what day & date was. On April 13 Jerry moved to a step down unit. April 14th Sue & her mom was visiting. They were excited to see the improvements.

While nurses were changing his bedding he coded 3 times which led them to place him back on life support, impella, ventilator & eventually dialysis.

It has been baby steps with everything. 1 step foward 2 steps back. Finally as of May 7th he has slowly been taken off lift support, ventilor was replaced with a tach. Jerry is still stable, but not responding well. Today new port for dialysis. Soon hoping off impella, and dialysis a few days week instead of 24/7. Waiting on MRI to know more.

At some point he will have to go to a temporary care facility.

My best friend is going through this very difficult time. Prayers are needed at this time. If you can find it in your heart to help them in this time of need for Medical bills, travel expenses, food gas. It would be million times over appreciated.
