Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church

Dear Friends & Family,

To begin, the Pastor, Officers, and Members of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist would like to thank you for your continuous support of our church.

Starting a church is not an easy task. However, in 2016, something that started as a vision became a reality when we purchased a building in the Village of Cankton. Although the building needed repair at the time of purchase, we knew if we all worked together, we could turn the old daycare center into a place for us to worship. We spent hours upon hours working day and night repairing, painting, etc. We had a tall task ahead of us, but we were up to the challenge. We walked by faith every step of the way, knowing that one day we would be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

We had help from many people along the way, and donations of church furniture, flooring, paint, and time began to pour in. In a few months, what started as a daycare began to evolve into a place of worship. Here we are six years later, and although we have come a long way, we still have a ways to go.

We may be a small congregation in numbers, but we are mighty in battle. We know that faith without works is dead. So, over the past years, we have been doing the work. In addition to offering services on Sundays and Wednesdays, we have given food baskets to the needy and care packages to residents at various nursing home facilities. In addition, we have programs throughout the year that allows us to fellowship with other churches. Also, we have monthly fundraisers to aid in the payoff of our church.

You may or may not be aware that the roof of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church is in desperate need of repair. The estimated cost of this renovation project is approximately $50,000. Prior fundraising has raised $6000.00. Unfortunately, we recently replaced one of the church's AC units, leaving us starting over in our fundraising efforts.

We aim to raise these funds over the next six months so the work can begin in the spring of next year. In addition to soliciting cash donations, we have planned several other fundraising events to help us reach our financial goals. You can find out more about these planned activities in our church bulletin. Since we understand that not everyone will be able to help us with a cash donation, we hope you will consider donating goods or volunteering time at some of our events.

Your generous donation will help us replace our roof and repair the inside of our church while it preserves an essential asset to our community. We need the support of our members and the benevolence of the community, businesses, and individuals to help us reach our goal.
