Mt Zion and Carter Chapel Cme Church Vandalism

On Saturday, June 20, 2020, both Amarillo Churches were vandalized. Rocks were thrown through stained glass windows, as well as damage to front doors. Both churches are some of the oldest Black churches in Amarillo. Reasons for the vandalism are not known at this point, but it’s a hate crime, none the less. I’m hoping our community can get behind them and help them through this time. Again, they are Mt Zion Baptist and Carter Chapel Cme Church.
