This year, TWO teams from the Mt. Stuart Robotics Club at Mt. Stuart Elementary in Ellensburg, Washington qualified for the Elementary Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas!
The Wolfpack (Aspen, Maddy, and Emery) qualified for the second year in a row – they won their position in the championship by winning the “Innovate” Award at the state championship. They will travel to Texas with their robot, Everest.
The Muddy Ducks (Isaiah, Kennedy, and Conley qualified for the first time. This is their first year doing robotics – they won their position in the championship by winning the “Design” Award at the state championship.
This season the students have worked hard on building and modifying our robots. We have learned how to build a robot, problem-solve mechanical issues with our robot, program our robot, drive our robot, communicate/strategize with other teams at competitions, test different ideas to make our robots better, keep a detailed engineering notebook, and communicate and be part of a team. Along the way, these hardworking students earned Excellence Awards and Design Awards at tournaments in Ellensburg, Wenatchee, and Mattawa.
We’ve qualified for the World Championship, but we need some help. We hosted tournaments and sold concessions throughout the season to raise money. However, that wasn't enough to fund two teams to go to Dallas. We need a little help and would appreciate any support you could provide. If we meet our goal of fully funding the trip, all extra funds raised will go to the Mount Stuart Robotics Club for new equipment and future travel.
