Please Join the Doug Hawk Memorial Team!
The Doug Hawk Memorial Team is made up of friends, family, and coworkers who knew and loved Doug. He worked as an architect for Placer County for 20 years, managing projects big and small. He loved being an architect, golfing, boating, photography, and creating mischief. We all miss his humor, kindness, quick wit, and artistic talents.
To celebrate Doug, his life and contributions, we have joined together to create the Doug Hawk Memorial Grove, a landscape area with three new maple trees and granite marker at the Community Development Resource Center at the Placer County Government Center in North Auburn. The Board of Supervisors has approved space for the memorial in front of the building, the largest project of Doug’s career.
To fund and implement the project, we need your help! The Doug Hawk Memorial Grove will be an all-donation and volunteer effort.
So far, three fifteen-gallon trees have been pledged by Williams & Paddon Architects, landscape design services have been dontaed by Yamasaki Landscape Architecture, and Ruhkala Monument has offered quite a good deal on the granite memorial stone. But, we still need approximately $5,000 to buy the stone and additional plants, rent equipment to place the marker, buy supplies for an irrigation system to keep the trees alive, lighting to illuminate it at night, and mulch for the ground around the trees.
Please help honor Doug by becoming a member of the Doug Hawk Memorial Team by making a donation toward this worthy project. Any amount to get us to our goal will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support!
