update: first I want to thank everybody who's donated, I appreciate every penny. I had my final exam this week at the ophthalmologist to measure my eyes and the conclusion has been made that I need the $1400 lenses in both eyes, so now this means I need to raise $2800 in total. I'm super discouraged about this, I'm praying for a miracle. Thank you again to everybody who has donated so far. You're amazing.

Hi my name is Sandy, or some of you know me as Sandra. I find myself in the difficult place of needing specialized lenses for cataract surgery due to astigmatism in my eyes. I'm not eligible for the free lenses that BC Med provide and so I need a $1400 lens in one eye and a $600 lens in the other eye. I haven't worked in film for several years, due to lack of productions, and my extended insurance through the union has expired. At present my only income is my CPP and OAP which just covers rent. I have been bridging the gap for other expenses with my artwork but since the tariffs, my art business has completely died. I've had one order in three months, thus I have no way of paying for these lenses. I need the surgery because I can no longer drive at night and it's getting worse. So as much as I really don't want to do this, I'm reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to help me pay for these lenses. I would be so eternally grateful, and should my situation improve, I would repay each and everyone of you. I'm doing this as a very last resort and I do it reluctantly.
