OK, so this is kind of a long story. Last year, I had my pain pump filled, and my doctor put a band-aid on my stomach. Because I was fat, I couldn’t see it or feel it. Fast forward two weeks, and my stomach hurts. I show my mom, and she tells me I have to go to the ER. I wait four days, then go because I had to work. Long story short, I ended up going in for emergency surgery. My doctor ended up having to do emergency surgery that day. She then put a wound vac on with adhesive, which I’m horribly allergic to, and why the band-aid went through my skin and muscle and exposed my pain pump. I was in the hospital for a week that time, and it took months and months to heal.
Fast forward a year later, a wound shows up on my scar. My mom messes with it, and out pops my tubing for my pain pump. We thought it was a stitch, but it wasn’t. I went to the doctor in Brick, NJ. This doctor, without consulting anyone, just cut the tubing and glued my stomach shut. The next day, I see my doctor, and she sends me immediately to the ER. We wait for 10 hours. Long story short, I end up with more emergency surgery. She had to take out all the tubing because it was massively infected!! Now I have Staph, Strep, MRSA, and bacterial spinal meningitis. I have a PICC line in for IV Vancomycin. I am alkergic to so many a tabs the illnesses I hace are so toxic they have to put me on IV meds. I wasn't able to come up with the money yesterday so I went without my meds. My copay is almost $300 a week. We tried to see about another antibiotic but the copay on that one is $900 a week. I don't know what to do. Obviously , I’m not working. I don’t have that kind of money. Today, I went without meds. Been calling the doctors all day and since yesterday, and I’m getting no response. I have to have this medicine. My body has already been septic from this. I have to order more IV Vancomycin tomorrow. If anyone could do anything at all, I’d really appreciate it!!
