We’re reaching out to ask for your support for something very close to our hearts.

On Sunday October 5th, we’re participating in a walk at Thompson Park in Upper Arlington, OH - a local activity that’s part of a national campaign led by the MSUD Family Support Group. This campaign, called MSUD Moves, raises funds to pay for travel expenses for MSUD families to attend the 2026 MSUD Symposium.

As you may know, Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD), is a rare and potentially life-threatening genetic disorder that affects the body’s ability to break down certain amino acids. MSUD may be rare (affecting about 1 in 185,000 infants), but it is very real and personal to us, since Jordan’s diagnosis at 17 days of life. As Jordan’s parents, we’ve seen and experienced the strength it takes to manage this condition every single day.

This event will support the 21st MSUD Symposium to be held on June 25–27, 2026 in Cleveland, Ohio. Your gift will help cover travel expenses for those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Symposiums are vital for MSUD families to gain knowledge about caring for their child and to connect with other families. For some with MSUD, attending a symposium is the first opportunity that they will have to meet other families with this complicated disease.

If you would like to join us for the walk, we will be at Thompson Park at 4250 Woodbridge Rd in Upper Arlington on Sun Oct 5th from 10AM-12N. Look for the blue balloons. Park near the north shelter on the east side of the park. There is a playground nearby. We will be walking 6 times around the 1-mile perimeter of the park, which is approximately a 10K. Join us for some or all of the walk or stop by to say Hello. Snacks and drinks provided.
