We’re writing this as a loving family who adore David with all our hearts.
Earlier this year, David was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) in his throat. After two operations, he underwent intensive radiotherapy. Despite this, we then received the devastating news that the cancer has spread to his spine and some of his organs.
David is just 42 years old, and the proud daddy of two beautiful little girls, Iris (3) and Ada (2). They are his whole world, and he is fighting with everything he has to survive and watch them grow up.
Unfortunately, the treatment options available through the NHS were limited — they could only offer either immunotherapy or chemotherapy, not both together. After researching and speaking with medical experts and specialists, we believe that a combined treatment plan gives David the best possible chance of survival. This approach is not available through the NHS or close to home, which means we must fund it privately and travel to London frequently.
That’s why, as a family, we’re reaching out to the people who know and love David. We all know what a bright, shining light he is.
David is undergoing a comprehensive treatment plan which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other alternative treatments. We are combining traditional and integrative therapies to give him the best possible chance of healing.
Any donation — big or small — will make an enormous difference. Your support will help to fund David’s treatment, as well as his living and travel expenses while he is in London and potentially, further afield for specialist care.
As a family, we are determined to do everything within our power to keep our darling David with us, and to give him the future he deserves with his loved ones — a future where he can watch Iris and Ada grow up.
Thank you for taking the time to read David’s story and for any support you are able to offer.
We would be so grateful for any donations and if you would share this page with anyone who knows and adores David and his family.
Your kindness and donations mean the world to us and will help us give David the best medical care possible.
Love from the Kirkbride family ❤️
