Jana Gryder, known as Ms. Jana to her students, is a loved and well-respected preschool teacher in Lakeway and works at My Time Kids Gym.  Yesterday afternoon she was taking her daughter to get a present for her birthday when they were struck by a car that went into Jana's lane of traffic.  Traveling at highway speeds, this was a high impact collision that caused injury to herself and her children.  I am happy to report the girls have been released from the hospital and are at home recovering from minor injuries.  Jana suffered the worst injuries with her legs being crushed in the accident.  The impact shattered the bones in her legs which will require multiple surgeries, permanant pins in her leg, and a long road of physical therapy. 

In the 8 years I have known Jana, she has always been a giver and consisitently reaching out to people or animals in need.  She has encouraged giving at My Time organizing donations to local animal shelters, Wimberley Flood Victims, local school carnivals, and most recently a school supply drive for LTISD Back to School.  It is my hope that we can pay it forward and return so much of the love she has given to our community and our young students. 

Jana's family will need help financially to help cover the immediate needs of her family which will include childcare, transportation, laundry, house care, groceries, and dinners (a Care Calendar is also being created) to name a few.  She has a second surgery scheduled which will require months of physical therapy and a minimum of 3 months in a wheel chair.

The wonderful thing that happens when a community joins together is a little effort goes a long way.  Please consider donating to help Jana, her husband, and 4 children so they can focus their time and attention on healing.
