Keep The Pace
Donation protected
Hello, we are a group of 16 ex-soldiers from the Royal Engineers who formed a lasting friendship as 16 year olds during our time in the Junior Leaders Regiment RE at Dover in 1986.
Recently one of our boys' Rich Pace has been having a tough time following a lung cancer diagnosis and subsequent invasive treatments. We have now learned that Rich's prognosis isn't looking too clever either, and with that, we've decided to try and raise some money to help Rich out during this difficult time. From this Rich will be donating monies to his chosen charity EGFR UK, who are a small Lung Cancer charity and support group. They have given Rich and his family an immense amount of help and support over the past months.
We have decided to undertake a 42-mile March from the site of what was Old Park Barracks in Dover, to Brompton Barracks in Chatham. This will be no mean feat for a bunch of 53-year-olds, most of whom haven't kept themselves fit. We have all been training very hard, gradually building up the distances, suffering blisters, bad knees, hips and backs along the way.
We will be posting up photos and videos of our march here.
We are all determined to complete this march in one go, with just a 10-minute stop every 10 miles, please show your support and help the lads along by donating whatever you can.
Thank you.
