The ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India is perpetuated by the extreme stress it has caused on the country's healthcare system. Necessary supplies such as oxygen, pulse oximeters, PPE, are vastly limited and have left many individuals at risk of death.

The Residents of Sinai Cardiology (ROSC), which began as a mentorship group that facilitates resident physician interest in cardiology at The Mount Sinai Hospital, has transformed into a community outreach group that collaborates with local and global cardiovascular health opportunities.

The crisis in India is one that extends beyond cardiovascular health alone and resonates with our commitment as physicians to the health and well-being of another individual. We are aiming to collect donations to directly provide support and relief to numerous hospital systems in India. Each donation will help acquire oxygen delivery equipment, PPE supplies, and ventilators for people in most need across India.

Specifically, we have now collaborated with the 'COVID Crisis Help India' (CCHI) group, a local civilian-based effort that is actively seeking donations with transparent delivery and equitable distribution to identified hospital systems in need across India. Currently, they are expanding their efforts to provide treatment tents near hospitals to house patients requiring oxygen support and offset the stress of bed capacity In addition, there is a continued need for PPE for various hospitals, and home oximeters, and thermometers to facilitate recovery for those individuals at home. We aim to support these credible efforts with your generous donations and facilitate our support further as members of the healthcare community.

Each week we will provide updates regarding how your donations are supporting our efforts with CCHI and our progressing aims as we jointly tackle this crisis!
