For those who may not know me, my name is Kelly Reeves and I am the owner of Ms. Defense, a women's self-defense company.

When the pandemic hit and there was a ton of social unrest, I began to see more and more violence in our communities, especially against women. I didn’t feel safe in my own home anymore. I didn’t feel safe walking in the parking lot of a grocery store, or to my car at night.

I realized I wasn’t alone. So many of my girlfriends also said they didn’t feel safe in their everyday lives anymore.

I wanted to change that! So, I started Ms. Defense to empower women to take control of their personal safety.

I’ve applied for small business loans and looked into getting credit cards. But after paying off all my debt in late 2021, I didn’t want to get myself into a new mountain of debt, especially with the current economic climate.

After doing some research, talking with fellow entrepreneurs, and A LOT of prayer, I felt God’s voice nudge me to this: Seeking the support and encouragement from my friends, family, and community who've been a part of this journey all along – a GIANT leap of faith and act of courage, stepping out of my comfort zone to ask for help.

So, here I am, asking for your support to give me some breathing room so I don’t have to work three jobs to build a business that is committed to helping women prepare, prevent, and protect themselves from a violent attack.
