Being only 21, I have been working as an EMT in various medical positions since I was 16. I graduated high school early, my sophomore year, and started taking EMT classes. I got my EMT license by the time I turned 18, and shortly after started my career in the medical field. I struggled with severe chronic asthma growing up, so I knew from an early age, I wanted to give back and help others struggling with medical issues, as I did. My ultimate goal is to become firefighter paramedic.
I started my career as an EMT, working on an ambulance for the first year, to help serve others in need and gain a better perspective of the medical profession. The more I helped others, the more I knew this was my purpose. I also worked at Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach and Joseph Medical Center in the ER. This was right when the pandemic started, so I had to learn and adapt at the same time due to the unforeseen circumstances. During my experience in the hospital and on the ambulance, I unfortunately saw first hand some of the pain my patients were going through. This fueled my drive even further, knowing that I wanted to help others. From here, I worked for San Bernardino Unified School District as a Covid liaison, helping test and trace covid outbreaks in school. During this time I was also simultaneously enrolled in paramedic school, which was extremely difficult to balance. After finally passing my coursework with a 94%, I am able to complete the final step, clinicals. I am asking for your help so I can finish my clinic hours due to them being located out of state. The online paramedic school I attended is not in Ca, so I need to live out of state (temporarily) in Washington, where I will be working at a local fire station. My clinical duration will likely be 2-3 months, with 540 clinic hours needed to finish in order to get my paramedic’s license. Since I cannot do these hours in CA, I am asking for any help to cover my out-of-state expenses. This will be my last and final step to receiving my paramedic license. This is extremely important to me so any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
