A Plea for Help: Bringing My Family to Safety

My name is Reem, and I currently live in Canada. While I have found a measure of peace and stability here, my heart remains deeply tied to my roots in Gaza, Palestine. As many of you are aware, Gaza is a region fraught with conflict and hardship. The ongoing war and turmoil have made life incredibly difficult for those who reside there. Today, I am reaching out to you with a humble plea for help and support. My sister, her husband, and their two young children are still living in Gaza, and I am desperately seeking to bring them to safety here in Canada. They are a loving family who, like many others, dream of a peaceful life free from the constant threat of violence and instability. Your support can make an immense difference in their lives. Any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way towards helping us navigate the complex and often expensive process of evacuation and resettlement. Hello, I am Reham., my son, Daoud, and I lived a life full of love, reassurance, and security. We were eagerly waiting for my daughter Jihan’s birthday to light up our lives. We had brought all the supplies that Jihan needed. On October 7, war, bombing, and destruction broke out. I was very afraid of losing my daughter, and terror filled our hearts. My son, Daoud, was very afraid, crying and screaming from the intensity of the bombing. On October 13, we were called to evacuate and move to the south. We were overcome by fatigue and fear. Where would we go and what would the place we would go be like? We went to the place that was supposed to be safe. We did not take anything of our needs, and everything we had prepared for the birth of my daughter, I forgot with fear. On October 26, before my due date, I had to undergo a cesarean section before my scheduled date in November. I left my son David with relatives Saeed and I went under bombardment and fear to the unsafe hospital to undergo a caesarean section After fatigue, fear for my son, hardship, and waiting for hours, they prepared me for the operation, and it was the most difficult moment. It was difficult to provide full anesthesia for the operation. When they started the operation, I was aware of everything that was going on around me, and pain, fear, and terror were controlling my exhausted and very tired body. I was about to lose consciousness. My life, and suddenly a light shines and the doctor says, “We have found an anesthetic to complete the rest of the operation with.” There were moments that were difficult for me to forget, and when I woke up, I saw my daughter, Jihan, filling my world. She came to a city full of destruction and war. She did not sleep all the time except to the sound of bombing and the reconnaissance plane that made a sound that made the ear almost tear from hearing its voice. We suffer from mental and physical fatigue I did not tell the story in its daily, deadly details The war extinguished everything inside us. We have no home or work left. My children have no home left for them. There is no health center for my children. Diseases are widespread in my city, and they do not receive any health care We lost everything we had and we no longer have anything. A war took everything. All that remained was our bodies. Help us reach safety. We are threatened with extermination. Help my children live a happy and safe life. Your donation saves us all.
