Hi everybody, my name is Kelly and I’m writing today to seek help for sweet Canela. A few days ago, I woke up to something no pet owner should ever have to see. There were 14 different piles of vomit scattered around, some had already dried, but the most recent ones were pure blood. My sweet girl, Canela, had been suffering all night and the heartbreak I felt in that moment was impossible to put into words.

I rushed her to the emergency vet as fast as I could. While we were there, she tried to go to the bathroom, but what came out was not normal. It was a puddle of pure blood.

Right now, Canela has no energy. She is weak, exhausted, and fighting. She is currently admitted at the emergency vet, hooked up to an IV receiving fluids and medication around the clock. Watching her like this has been one of the most painful experiences of my life.

I’m reaching out because I truly need help, and anyone who knows me will know I’d only ask if I were in absolute desperation. The costs of emergency and overnight veterinary care are overwhelming. The funds raised will go directly toward her hospitalization, IV fluids, antibiotics, antifibrinolytic injections to help control the excessive bleeding, medications to heal the damaged lining of her stomach and upper small intestine, rehydration treatments, probiotics, and a specialized medicated diet including both wet and dry food.

Canela is more than just a dog, she is family. She has touched the lives of so many people with her love, her sweetness, and her gentle spirit. Seeing her in this condition has left me completely distraught.
