Support Our Family's Journey of Grief and Healing
Donation protected
Dear friends and compassionate souls,
As you know, Vassag's dear mother has been courageously battling stage 4 breast cancer, and seeking every avenue towards healing and life extension, including a newly established, and promising treatment protocol enabled by the generous support of campaign donations from the community. We are very sad to share the news that her health took a very sudden turn this past week, and on the night of Friday, January 17th, she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Vassag and his father are understandably devastated, and focused now on arranging her funeral for this coming week. As mentioned in the earlier iteration of this campaign, Vassag's father had recently suffered a stroke, and was working towards rehabilitation and stabilization. These needs remain urgent, and as such, we are asking for continued support for his health and security, as well as towards offsetting the upcoming funeral costs.
Vassag has had to pause both full-time schooling and work in order to attend to his parents' health needs, and now this massive transition.
If you are able to support their family as they cope with this time of immense grief and vulnerability, it would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for care, your prayers, your love and solidarity,
Leila

Previous campaign description:
We urgently need your help to support Vassag’s parents during a life-changing crisis. His mother is courageously battling stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her bones, while his father is recovering from a stroke. The weight of these health crises—combined with fixed pensions—has created an overwhelming financial strain. Together, we can help them access critical treatments and live with dignity.
Despite their hardships, Vassag’s family is determined to explore every possible path towards his mother’s healing, including integrative therapies and specialized treatments abroad which would improve her quality of life as well as fight her cancer. Meanwhile, his father requires ongoing rehabilitation and can no longer assist with transportation or errands. As their only child, Vassag is doing everything he can to support his parents, while pursuing a full-time grad degree and working part-time. But understandably, the immensity of these responsibilities is beyond his capacity to hold alone.
We are humbly asking for your support to raise $40,000 for essential care, including:
-Access to life-extending cancer therapies locally and abroad. ($20,000 –$27,000)
-Rehabilitation and ongoing care for stroke recovery. ($2,500–$4,000)
-Transportation and meal deliveries for daily needs. ($2,500–$3,500)
-Counseling and support for mental and emotional well-being. ($1,000–$2,000)
-Domestic assistance and basic needs (($1,500–$2,000)
Throughout their lives, Vassag’s parents have shown remarkable strength and generosity, always putting others first. Their kindness and perseverance have inspired everyone who knows them. Now, they are in need of that same care and compassion.
Every act of kindness brings us closer to healing. If you’re unable to donate, you can still help by sharing this campaign, offering rides for appointments, or supporting in other ways, such as sharing resources on treatment options that have demonstrated value in treating breast cancer or stroke recovery. With your support, we can give them hope and the care they need during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Beth & Leila,
