Our mom, Ms. Tinu, has been a nurse for over 40 years now. Over the course of her career it's safe to say she's seen a lot transpire. However, this year has brought a particular set of challenges to medical front line workers, especially nurses.
The week before Thanksgiving, my mom tested positive for COVID-19 and things have not been the same since. What started off as feeling fatigued and worn out so much so she had to leave work early, progressed to labored breathing and incoherent speech. Thankfully my sister stopped by one day to check in on our mom just in time to call 911. Her Oxygen levels were worryingly low and the paramedics made the call to take her to the ER.
Once she arrived there, it was discovered that she had viral pneumonia and that's what was contributing to her low oxygen levels, shortness of breath, and the inability to take in a deep breath. Things were progressing so fast but thankfully she was in best place to get the care she needed.
Fast forward 10 days and we finally got to bring our mom home! Since Monday, November 30th our mom has been back at home continuing her recovery journey and we are so grateful as a family .

Now, the reality of the financial burden of medical expenses is settling in and this is where y'all fit in-- we need your help! As our mom is continuing her recovery and unsure when she will be physically fit to return back to working in her usual unit in the hospital, the psychiatric unit and coverage of the ER, she is in need of financial assistance to cover medical expenses, groceries, utility bills, medications, and so much more.
Here's how you can help:
1. DONATE—any amount would be sincerely appreciated. No amount is too small
2. SPREAD THE WORD—share this with your social network! The more folks we can share our mom's story with you never know who in your network may be able to help out too! Co-workers, fellow church members, IG, Facebook... y'all get the picture
3. PRAY—We're people of faith and we believe in a God who heals and provides! God is so faithful to use the amazing people we are connected to as means of His faithfulness. Our mama needs all the prayers she can get so pray and keep on praying!
Thank y'all so much in advance for your support, love, & prayers!
Sincerely,
Ms. Tinu's daughters (Yemisi & Suki )
