Ms. Sweeney's House Flooded

WHAT HAPPENED?

Tanika and Kaii fell in love. They worked really hard, paused all fun, and saved up to buy a house where they could live happily ever after. Then it RAINED enough to ruin a poor foundation that an inspector overlooked and a seller never disclosed. Tanika and Kaii's basement flooded. This basement was filled with important utilities and memories. There is a sinkhole on their property. There is a sinkhole in their happily ever after.

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) delegated a local disaster recovery company, who did a great job cleaning up, but Tanika and Kaii are left with the long term recovery, and though they are strong, they can not do this alone.

I am asking my community and her community for support.

WHY?

Uhh, because she’s my mom???? Also, she is the most loving and dedicated teacher and even better caregiver. I always joke that she has helped raise the entire eastside of Providence! She deserves a safe and WARM place to rest between lessons on kindness and explaining the difference between your left and right foot.

WHAT DOES THIS FUND?

-New hot water heater (honestly, this price alone makes me want to throw up)

-Washer and Dryer (If you know my mom, you know she LOVES to do laundry)

-Structural and foundational repairs so this NEVER, EVER, EVER happens again

-Filling the traumatizing sinkhole on their property

WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?

Unfortunately, their insurance does not cover natural floods.

WHAT ABOUT THE REMAINDER?

If Tanika and Kaii are lucky enough to have money left over, we will be donating the funds to OpenDoors (Rhode Island), a warming/ cooling center in Providence. Everyone deserves a warm shower and bed.

WHAT IF I CAN'T GIVE ANYTHING?

I, Nashalia, just ask that you be kind to everyone. We all have our own floods.
