Hi,
Im Ms Rebecca’s next door neighbor Carl. I just found out (2 weeks after the freeze) that Ms Rebecca is still without water. I have some plumbing experience and did an inspection of her pipes and believe that the galvanized pipes she currently has have interiorly corroded to the point where they are no longer allowing water to pass to any of her fixtures and are beyond repair. The best way forward is to replace them with PEX (plastic) piping that is economical, easier to install, will not corrode, and will not burst if frozen.
I have the “know how” to hire laborers to help and get the job done well for as little as possible and am asking for support to purchase the materials and pay for the helpers.
My estimate is that it will take 2 guys a max of 5 days at a rate of $200 each per day to do the work. That totals $2,000. Then about $500 for materials. Totaling $2,500.
If you are able to contribute $25 - $100 to help with the expense to get her water back running, it would be extremely helpful to her.
Thank you,
Carl
