Ms. Lunsford's Classroom iPads

As many of you know, I am starting my second year of teaching 7th grade English with Teach for America at Uplift Summit International Middle School.

My students' abilities range from students who are learning to write a grammatically correct sentence in English to students who can write 5 page papers... if you can imagine, it makes hard to create a lesson plan to target the entire range of my 150+ students.

Whenever we were able to use technology to use online skill-building programs such as IXL.com or StudyIsland, the kids loved it. It helped keep their attention with fun games while also building their reading and grammar skills. In addition, our ESL learners benefit from listening to our books on tape as we read together in class... we accomplished reading four novels!

My goal is to buy at least 3 iPads for my class this year so that I can use them for station learning, a lesson planning technique that has proven miraculous in my middle school classroom this past year! I can target every group of kids and their needs strategically... something I hope to do even better as a second year teacher.
