MS for 26 years now & a heart condition on disability

Hi my name is Cinthia Braun I’ve had Ms for 26 years this year. Finish working March 2024 due to my heart after 21 1/2 years working at Shoppers Drug Mart. I wasn’t told when I started about RRSP’s and that they would help me contribute, so I have no Pension.
Last year May 2024 I had a minor stroke in Ontario, my husband Gord was working there but because of my health & his heart. He missed a lot of work we had to come back home for blood clot testing. I fell 4 times last year because my balance was so bad, pictures attached.
I have had a walker since I was in the hospital in Windsor. We came home after 6 months. I rented out a room to a friend and she had other people living there. Furniture was damaged, many of Gord’s tools were missing. Money was gone that I got for my Mom after we came home from Ontario, stuff we brought back went missing too. Pretty gutsy & very disappointed, could not believe it only charged her $600/ month, what a deal & still stole from us. Called the police to write a report & insurance. Because I gave her full access to our home there was nothing we could do. Even if she rented to air bnb the cops can’t investigate that. Not sleeping in our bed for 6 months & it was memory foam so we could tell. I emptied a bedroom, gave away 1/2 of my clothes, my desk & many other items that were in my office.
In Windsor our engine blew in our truck so Gord flew to Calgary to pick up my Jeep and drove it back. That’s when I ended up in the hospital, he rushed back home to get me. It was $9000 for a newer used engine they had our truck for 3 months, sold my Jeep to them to pay for the repair. Made no sense to drive it back home either because I can’t work anymore.
We sold our home because I couldn’t use the stairs anymore, Gord couldn’t get work in Calgary. So we decided to move to Edmonton because we had nothing there anymore. Houses are less here, so we bought a mobile home. One floor is safer for me.
I need a ramp to get in & out of the home or a lift. We have a large rounded tub that I need to convert into a shower & eventually for a wheel chair.
I’ve only gotten money through disability through my Benifits I still self pay for $75 a month now. Canada Life only pays $1800 a month. Waiting for CPP, Canada Life said not to spend it because I am going to owe them, how much?
Gord had heart surgery yesterday. Thank goodness Doctors in Edmonton got on it. Calgary didn’t do their job
With the extra things I need & not having enough money to cover the bills I am reaching out for help. The lease to be in the trailer park is $900 a month, a lot more than we were told in the listing, utilities in Edmonton are a lot more too. The old owner passed away, she had a new furnace & hot water tank installed but they are both too small & no warranty or permit was pulled. Called the company that installed it but they don’t care.
I thank you for any help you can give. Gord had a job when we moved here & then couldn’t because of his heart. He hasn’t been able to work since August & will be unable to until he’s cleared to go back. Between all of that we still have truck payments, Benifits, insurance, lease. We are short every month & now used up our savings as well.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
